The winning competition submittal marked the close of John's five year effort on this project, which began with his writing of the Recommendations Report in 2009. In 2011, John recruited Gerding Edlen to be the lead developer and continued in his role as a founding member of the Capitol Hill Champion until 2013. Working closely with project architect Will Crothers, Hewiit, and Berger Partnership, John led the design and documentation of the four building competition entry which includes a public plaza, the future home of the Broadway Farmer's Market.
