A single family home on a gently sloped and wooded site. A clear expression of materials and structure delineate the hierarchy of spaces between servant and served: those of 16" load-bearing masonry construction are places of leisure and rest, while those of conventional wood framing are places of work. Each wall is a discrete planar element; there are no openings 'punched' within a wall. All openings are treated in light framing and glass, heightening their role in admitting light.
