Waste Management Woodinville Transfer Station and CNG Fueling Facility

Faced with a schedule that required the client to move into their renovated facility within 11 months, the design-build team worked closely with Snohomish County agencies to craft a streamlined design process which allowed for overlapping land use and building permit reviews. Alternative means and methods were established between architect and contractor and drawings issued that allowed sub-contractors to mobilize early. The site design included complex environmental reviews commensurate with waste transfer facilities as well as site drainage requirements that required it to mimic pre-development conditions. The program included training and dispatch rooms, management offices, weld and paint shops, and driver training rooms. CNG fueling and vehicle maintenance shops for 200 transfer vehicles were also part of the scope.
